This is just what happened in the case of Abhiruchi Gautam, who lost 15 kilos by eating pizzas and paranthas, foods we are often told to avoid completely if weight loss is our goal. Duration it took me to lose weight: 6 months

The turning point: My turning point came when people challenged me by saying that staying in shape post delivery is difficult.

My breakfast: 2 boiled eggs with tea or coffee or a parantha without ghee or butter

Mid-day snack: One fruit after two hours of breakfast. I always have orange because that is my favorite fruit.

My lunch: A bowl of plain rice with sabzi, daal, curd and salad

Evening snack: Nuts

My dinner: Grilled chicken with salad

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): Usually once a week, I either have fries or sometimes a thin crust pizza.

My workout: Cardio for 45 minutes daily, crunches, sit-ups and leg raises (3 sets of 30 repetitions)

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: A piece of dark chocolate once every two days

Fitness secrets I unveiled: Be focused on what you want to achieve. Don’t listen to people who give negative advices and vibes.

How do I stay motivated? Self-motivation is the first thing. Fitness is not a habit but a religion for me, which I follow with my whole heart and dedication.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? I used to watch videos of ladies who are fit even after having children. Malaika Arora Khan is my role model.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight? When you can’t wear your old fitting dresses. Everyone looks at overweight people like they have done some crime.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line? My next target is achieving a beach body. (Not sure about the time this will take)

What are the lifestyle changes you made? I stopped munching all the time, stopped eating any fast food and started giving one hour to myself daily.

What was the lowest point for you? I don’t remember any low point.
